Worship & Music
Vista de la Montaña United Methodist Church, Tucson, Arizona
Worship Services
We have two worship services each Sunday morning and two monthly Taize worship experiences.
On Sunday, our 9 a.m. service is traditional in style with a Chancel Choir. The 10:45 a.m. service is a blend of contemporary and traditional elements of music and worship.
Taizé Worship is the first & third Sundays of each month at 5 p.m. Taizé is a meditative worship experience emphasizing quiet reflection, prayer, scripture, music from the Taizé community in France, and contemplative silence.
Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month.
Special worship services are held at Vista on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter (sunrise and regular services), and Christmas Eve.
Music and Fine Arts
Chancel Choir
Vista De La Montaña United Methodist Church offers an excellent opportunity for service in the 9:00 a.m. service through its Chancel Choir. Music style ranges from classical to contemporary anthems, spirituals, and hymn arrangements, offering something for every singer regardless of experience level. Additionally, the choir presents three or four special musical programs annually, giving members an opportunity to expand their performance abilities. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. with some additional rehearsals for special programs. Come join this growing, dynamic group. Contact the church office (825-1985) for information.
Concert Series
We began this series in 2002 and we try to plan four to six concerts of varying musical styles each year. These concerts are held on Friday nights or Sunday afternoons. Previous concerts have included pianist Jon Neilsen, the Tucson MasterSingers, the University of Arizona’s HarpFusion, and University of Arizona Steel Band.
