The Easter Walk

It’s time to get nostalgic and turn back to those good ol’ happy days of the 50’s. Our youth group is inviting everyone to mark the date of Sun. Mar. 7th, 4 – 6 pm. This festive fundraiser, “The Big Bopper” will be a 50’s Diner and Sock Hop where participants are encouraged to dress the part, enjoy the food, the entertainment and a few competitions as well. We hope you will join the fun, while helping to support our youth’s summer mission project. Don’t worry, you won’t have to dance…unless you want to! Rock around the clock! Tickets are on sale now. Contact the church to RSVP your tickets.

It’s that time of year on Rodeo Weekend, where we invite you to dress in western or pioneer regalia to church services to remind us of our heritage in the southwest. On Sunday, February 28th right after both morning services (usually around 12:15 pm), we will gather together for a BBQ, some great fellowship, games for the kids and this year we even plan to have some horseshoe games set up to try your hand. See if you will get a ringer. Mark that date, dress up and join us for some great fellowship. This is a great Sunday to invite a friend!

A simple meal, with worship that includes the opportunity to receive the sign of the cross in ashes, communion and light a candle to enter the journey of discipleship. Devotional booklets and reminder medallion will be given out.

The Wesley Foundation of U of A will hold a special musical concert! Students from the University of Arizona and Pima Community College will utilize their amazing talents and gifts creating beautiful, uplifting music. Their instruments and voices will inspire you! A love offering will be taken at the end of the concert with all contributions benefitting the Wesley Foundation’s upcoming mission trip.
In May, Wesley students will travel to NewYork City for an emersion experience with homeless through the Youth Service Outreach Project. Participating in this mission, students will not only have the opportunity to meet and work with the homeless, but also be educated about the many facets around homelessness in America and have the opportunity to hear about ways to alleviate it. Our own Lauren Lukas who grew up in this church will be participating in this mission experience.
