Gear up campers for our Vacation Bible School Camp E.D.G.E. – Explore and Discover God Everywhere.  Our camp takes place this year from June 15 – 19th, 9:00 am – 12 noon.  It is open to children from age 4 through the end of 5th grade.  Registration forms available in the church office.  Cost:  $10 per child or $20 per family.  Children will receive a tee-shirt and take home CD, along with wonderful crafts they will be making throughout the week.  One highlight will be at the end of the week when Golder Ranch Fire Dept. will come to the parking lot and open up their firehose cannon in the air to rain down on the campers in their swimsuits.  It was awesome last year, and a refreshing. fun treat for the kids (and the parents who got to observe them.  We hope you can join us!

The Shack

VC and I both enjoyed the Shack study. Both
> enjoyed meeting other Vista members and in an other
> than Sunday format. The Shack is really inspired writing, it
> is too revealing to be a novice writers first work,
> even though I believe the authors presentation. Studying
> pain through God, as an instrument for God to turn to good
> all the while being unseen from our eyes was a first
> experience. I grew up with the Baltimore Chatechism
> and beleive me that is oatmeal for first graders which tends
> to be retaught over and over with out change and with
> out much added insite. I love the trio God as shown and
> enjoyed how they interacted as one, always in harmony
> with each other. They know all the ills of the world
> yet patiently acknowledge and perfect (turn to good)
> that pain. I hope to re read the Shack eventually,
> there is much I missed I’m sure.

A Blessing

Posted: Wednesday, May 20th, 2009, by Nedra

Last week, when I was catching up after Easter, I was going through stacks of mail and catalogues and unfilled receipts and bills, when I came across a stack of cards.  There were more than a hundred of them.  They had been sent to me by members of Vista Church over the last six months.  Some of the cards were “Get Well” cards sent in September and October after I had been diagnosed with a Retinal Branch Vein Occlusion and was losing the sight in my right eye.  Some of the cards were Christmas cards that came in December and the

remainder were birthday cards sent in March.  I took the time to

open each card again and read the messages, both the printed

sentiment on the card and the handwritten lines from the sender.

What an uplifting experience!  I had an overwhelming sensation of

gratitude and affection.  My self-esteem was boosted, too.  As I was

sorting through the stacks of mail, I was keeping.  0nly the “essential”

stuff and consigning the rest to the shredder and recycle box.  But

these card were more than essential, they were a gift from God.  I

treasure them and the people who sent them.

My Story

Posted: Wednesday, May 20th, 2009, by Nedra

I spent my life looking for excitement and adventure, but remained

empty and unfulfilled.  Then, one night I called out to God.  He

answered me even as I reached out to Him.  Since that time I have

had an abundance of excitement and adventure that gives meaning

to my life.  And, I found my best friend.

10:45 am: Confirmation Sunday – Celebrate the journey of our Confirmands on their profession of faith, acceptance of discipleship, and joining of Vista Church.  The Confirmands will help lead worship as well, and join Rev. Matt along with one of our graduates in giving the message.  This is an important event in their lives and their faith journey!  Would you support them by writing a card or note of encouragement?  Our Confirmands are: Maxx Peate, Kim Roberts, Kara Synhorst, and Jerry Theberge.  These notes and cards can be left in a basket that will be out for you to drop them in as you go into the Sanctuary.  Thank you in advance!
